Hello. It's a pleasure to meet you.
My name is Kristin. I'm 18, and currently a senior in high school. This means that for the next 50 days prior to my high school graduation, I will be battling nostalgia vs. I-can't-wait-to-get-out-of-this-town feelings. Oh, and the town I speak of? It's a small, seashore community in Connecticut... the type of place you swear you’ll never return to once you graduate, but 20 years down the road? You're living by the local Stop & Shop and driving an SUV.
In many ways, I'm your average teenager. (Namely because I'm passionless about a lot, and enthusiastic about a little.) My life, and my views, are full of contradictions; either I'm rambling about some trashy television show, for example, or discussing the AIDS epidemic in Africa. Nothing's off limits - well, a lot isn't.
One of my favorite quotes is by French writer and philosopher Albert Camus; “The purpose of a writer is to keep civilization from destroying itself.” While I doubt I yield that type of power from this livejournal, the saying does do wonders for my ego. : )
As for "friending?" Please feel free to add me. I would love to read your journal, and am waiting eagerly to do so. If I friended you and you have no idea why, never fear! It's simply because I like what you have to say. (You are under no obligation, of course, to return that sentiment.)
